MRSA
is short for the infectious bug called methicillin resistant
staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It can be transferred because
of poor hygiene practices such as neglecting to wash one's hands.
Many
of the lawsuits are filed against medical facilities, health
offices, and prisons due to substandard sanitary
environments. Prisons are highly susceptible because of
overcrowding and staff shortage. For example, prisoners
infected with HIV are most vulnerable. In hospitals,
patients who are admitted for surgery may contract the infectious
MRSA which can lead to an untimely death.
