Two
dachshund lawsuits include one from Illinois and the other from the
UK. In Illinois, article published in Chicago Daily Herald
on March 30, 2000 states that Lucy Huck, a dachshund breeder in
Long Grove, Illinois has been trying to appease the complaints of
her neighbors by constructing a 12-foot fence to keep the noise of
the dogs from disturbing the neighbors. The neighbors
continue to complain, and thus filed a lawsuit against Huck not
only once, but twice. Huck argues that most of the
complaints are coming from newer residents with their fancy, big
houses that have been built around Huck's neighborhood which used
to be more rural and had farm homes. Huck is 79 years old,
has lived in her same home for 60 years, and has been breeding the
dachshunds for 53 years. She says that until recently, there
had been no zoning laws.
The
lawsuit from the UK concerns a British couple who lost their
lawsuit when they claimed that a Safeway flyer in their mailbox
caused the paralysis of their dachshund. That is, while the
pet was jumping up to get the advertisement flyer, the dog got
injured.
