Fen-Phen is the
name for the mixing of two drugs, fenfluramine and phentermine.
This drug prescription was used to curtail obesity.
In 1959, the FDA
allowed the use of phentermine, and in 1973, the FDA approved
the use of fenfluramine. However, the FDA has not
announced approval of the combination of the two drugs.
