Florida Zyprexa attorneys

Why are Florida Zyprexa attorneys interested in the fact you have taken Zyprexa?  Because of the medical history of this drug that is widely used to treat schizophrenia.  It has also been prescribed for bipolar disorder.  In May 3, 2002, the Medicines Control Agency in Great Britain warned patients that using Eli Lilly’s medicine, Zyprexa, could increase chances for diabetes.  That is, Zyprexa “can adversely affect blood glucose.”  In Britain, out of forty cases reported, four went into coma and one was fatal.

A month earlier on April 2002, the Japanese Health and Welfare Ministry informed the Eli Lilly branch in Japan about the side effects of Zyprexa after two diabetic patients died while taking Zyprexa.  The Ministry also reported that seven cases had lost consciousness or went into coma after using Zyprexa for as long as ten months.

Because of these findings, the Ministry warned that diabetic patients should not take the drug and asked Eli Lilly to inform doctors to closely watch diabetic patients who have been prescribed with Zyprexa.
