side effects of zyprexa

Zyprexa will affect patients differently, which means, that should you need to take this drug, mostly used to treat schizophrenia, it is good to know the side effects.  Also, it is important to consult your doctor when taking more than one medication.  Combining medicines may have serious adverse effects.  That is, if your psychiatrist is not aware of a drug prescribed to you by your family doctor, then it is for your best interest to let both doctors know of all the drugs you are taking to avoid any harmful drug interactions.

Side effects of zyprexa include weight gain (because of greater appetite), seizures, dry mouth, stomach pain, constipation, dizziness, and trembling.  Zyprexa has also been linked to Diabetes Melltitus (exacerbation of diabetes), hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar) and pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas).
