| Merck's
voluntary withdrawal of Vioxx from the United States on
September 30, 2004, has started a Vioxx and ceoxx law suit for
all patients worldwide who have suffered from these prescribed
group of drugs. Ceoxx is the brand name for other
countries. Both brand names are a drug named Rofecoxib,
used to relieve arthritis and pain.
A 3-year study confirmed that
after 18 months of taking Rofecoxib, patients who had healthy
hearts beforehand increased their chances for stroke or
heart attack compared to patients who were given placebo.

"The Chicago law firm
of KENNETH B. MOLL & ASSOCIATES, LTD. filed the first
worldwide class action lawsuit against Merck, on behalf of all
persons who were prescribed the potentially deadly arthritis
drug rofecoxib, also known as Vioxx (Ceoxx outside the United
States). The law firm has already received inquiries from
persons who believe they were injured by Vioxx in China, South
Africa, Italy, Canada, the United States, and other countries.
Merck estimates that over 24 million patients have been
prescribed the drug worldwide."
