If you took
Vioxx and you are interested in making a vioxx legal claim due
to personal injury, you have a legitimate case as shown by a
Vioxx settlement on August 19, 2005.
Read about it below.
When the White House, who we still hope has a percentage
of their agenda for the benefit of the citizens of the United
States, signed a law that limited and capped lawsuits, there was
a lot of uncertainty as to where else the public can turn to for
help regarding pharmaceutical recalls that have proven to hurt
an “uninformed” public.
With the settlement below, you now have a better chance
to make a vioxx legal claim, not only for your families, but
also for all who need to become more informed about dangerous
drugs.
Vioxx
Settlement:
On
October 1, 2004, an entry here (Merck
Withdraws Vioxx®) announced the decision by the company
for a voluntary withdrawal of their arthritis and pain
medication Vioxx® (rofecoxib) because study results showed that
patients who used the drug for 18 months had an increased risk
of cardovascular (CV) events, such as heart attack and stroke.
In the first personal-injury case over the drug to come to
trial, on August 19, 2005 a jury ruled that Merck & Co. must
pay more than $253 million to the family of a Texas man who died
after taking the company's Vioxx painkiller.
